Overview

Aggressive players can give their feet all the support they need in the Propulse Fury. The Propulse line takes a leap forward and is re-engineered to maximize stability, durability and comfort for the modern player. Babolat identified 9 key pressure points on the foot and uses Active Flexxion technology to provide cushioning, support and responsiveness to all those areas. In addition, the improved Michelin rubber compound is more resilient than ever before, allowing weight to be taken out of the outsole while still providing exceptional durability, even for those that are very hard on their shoes.

  • Fit: Length is true. A medium, slightly narrow width with a snug forefoot. Medium arch support. No break-in required.
  • Upper: Synthetic materials and mesh combine for lightweight comfort, support and breathability. Power Belt technology locks in the heel and midfoot with an external shell for exceptional stability.
  • Midsole: EVA midsole with Kompressor technology for good cushioning, support and responsiveness under foot.
  • Outsole: Improved Michelin rubber compound in a tread pattern that offers great durability and traction on any court surface.
  • Weight: 437 grams (US size 10.5)
  • Colour: White / Black

Comments: I've run through 3 pairs of these in the span of about 2 months. They are super comfortable and I have used the propulse line for years. The only problem is that the lace loop on the shoe in the mid foot area repeatedly breaks for me a few matches in, I think it's a significant design flaw. If you move around the court a lot I suggest you look elsewhere. I will give them another shot when they redesign the shoe (it is unfortunate because my feet fit perfectly in these shoes!).

Comments: This is a great shoe. I tried about ten different shoes in multiple sizes to find the right fit and feel, as well as performance. I tried similar shoes from Asics, New Balance, and Adidas. The Asics were very nice, but I couldn't get the fit right. This Babolat Propulse Fury has a "booty" enclosure with an integral tongue - but unlike the Asics and the New Balalnce, it is relatively easy to get your foot in it. It holds your foot very securely, and provides great lateral support. These felt broken in right out of the box - absolutely no rubbing or blistering, even with only one pair of thin low-rise ankle socks. Unlike the Asics, I don't need to lace them in the very top hole to secure my ankle (while I had to do this with the Asics models). I also tried (and bought) a pair of Babolat Jet Mach I's. These are very light weight, and also fit perfectly, but they are just a bit less comfortable than the Propulse Fury. I ended up buying two pairs of Propulse Fury's, in the all white Wimbledon color, and in the black/blue color (for playing on Har-Tru). My only complaint is that they don't come in very many colors (two whites, the black-blue, and the gray-orange). I would have liked a grey-blue or a brownish color (we have a few red clay courts near us that I play on occasionally, and they ruin shoes). I also wish they offered the colored shoes with a clay court outsole. Overall, though, I think I've found my shoe for a while. Great shoe.

Comments: Switched over from Nike Vapor X, never going back. First shoe in a long while that fits my foot perfectly.

Comments: Unlike my other numerous pairs of Propulse shoes, these have too much room in the toe area. They just felt clunky. I wore about 5 times and never could really break them in. So I'm moving on.

Comments: These offer a nice blend of comfort, support and stability. Fast feeling and not too bulky. My size 8 pair weighs 376 grams each compared to a size 8.5 Vapor 9.5 which weighs 370 grams. Very comfortable straight out of the box. Wore them for the first time in a 2 hour singles match and felt like they were broken-in and molded to my feet by the end of the first set. Excellent arch support for someone with high arches, and with enough cushioning that I don't think I will need to replace the insoles which is not often the case.

Comments: Just received these yesterday and played with them indoors last night -- I didn't have any slipping issues on the court as noted by others and I agree that the improved cushioning in the forefoot is a big improvement over the last model. I have been wearing each version of the Propulse going back 4 models -- one of the things that I most liked was the velcro strap over the instep -- it gave a secure fit without having to over-tighten the laces, an issue for me as I have some diabetic neuropathy in my feet. The replacement to this (power belt) left me with either too tight a lacing or too much heal slippage which was solved by changing the lacing through the power belt loops (instead of bottom to top through these loops, I went top to bottom, which added enough friction to give a more secure fitting over the instep). Played 90 minutes with them and they felt great!

Comments: I know they are a little bit heavier but more stable and more durable. The 360 tongue makes my foot feel secure. They fit great, good width, good cushion in the heel area. I highly recommend this shoe for players looking for durability and support.

Comments: Babolat pretty much got it all wrong on this one. I have been using Babolat shoes for about five years now, and have gone through many pairs. These are the worst by far. The weight of these shoes is greater than any Babolat pair which I have ever felt, and it is really noticeable. Coming from the super light Jets, this was a big adjustment, and it still really hurts my movement. These next couple criticisms are more personal opinion. I don't like the fact that the tongue is now attached to the sides of the shoe instead of being free, and I hate the loops which the laces travel through. Thankfully, Babolat put holes in the same relative area, but the large loops get get in the way when I try to route the laces through them. The break-in period was still non existent, so kudos to Babolat for keeping that. I am definitely going back to the jets.
