Overview

Introducing the heaviest member of the Boom family! Named the Boom Pro, this racquet combines surgical targeting with easy power and great feel. It also gives you a tad more stability and plow-through than the Boom MP, but remains fast enough for the aggressive all-court player. Technologies include a Morph Beam, which combines an elongated box beam shaft with a more powerful construction in the head. The Boom Pro also packs a wider more responsive contact zone in the upper hoop. The result is not only a more expansive sweetspot, but also a more generous spin-window at the racquet's maximum leverage point (think heavy ball). In addition to Graphene 360+ (which helps with power and stability), this racquet includes a uniquely flexible Auxetic construction in the yolk, a feature that optimizes ball feedback according to impact location. On the court the Boom Pro not only delivers the quick handling, easy power and spin-friendly precision of our favorite modern player's racquets, it also feels great at impact, and it does a good job absorbing and redirecting higher levels of pace. The fact that it plays great right out of the box is a nice bonus.

Comments: After a thorough playtest I made the switch to this racquet. The weight paired with the head shape resulted in deeper shots from the baseline (easy power) while providing a very stable and comfortable feel. It moves great through the air and this allows me to keep up with big hitters and actually punch back with some "boom" of my own. I would strongly recommend it to players which typically prefer control over power because this stick will provide a little bit of power. I switched from the Prestige Pro.

Comments: Here comes the Boom? Well somewhat, but not a magic wand that leaves your opponent gasping in awe, but a very solid racquet. Well balanced, with enough heft to handle fast pace. Performs well in every area, though not really a full-on player's racquet. It would best be utilized by 4.0 players and up. I demoed it strung with multifilament and was very forgiving, but not unduly muted. Poly might be a bit rough, but I never use it. Head has produced one of the best new offerings on the market. If you are a serious player, it is certainly worth a look. Cocoa Gauff used it to reach the final of the recent French Open.

Comments: So I've been on a 7-year hiatus from tennis. The last racquet I played with was from High School (2010-14) which was a 2006 Dunlop M-FIL 200 plus. I've always wanted a head racket when I was in high school but they were too expensive for my budget (given I was a fan of Andy Murray, and Radicals were around $160-180 back in 2012-14). I picked back up because I'm a high school teacher and was offered to be an assistant coach for their boy's tennis team. Now that my budget has increased drastically from my high school years, I immediately started searching for the best new racquet to play. On top of the color-catching teal and black, I heard great things about the new Head Boom Pro racquet. Coming from my dinosaur Dunlop racquet where all my shots had to be precise, or I'd suffer from tennis elbow. The new Head Boom Pro felt like walking on clouds (in a racquet perspective) this racquet is so user-friendly. I also bought Head Lynx Touch (which I do not recommend btw) strings. Unfortunately, those strings didn't even last three weeks, maybe because I was so used to my dinosaur racquet. Come to find out I am a heavy hitter, after an hour of serving, I noticed small little slits in the strings in the sweet spot, and after two weeks those slits turned into busted plastic hanging on to dear life on the bed of the racket. Anyway back to the racquet, I immediately noticed just how comfortable this racquet was just by serving. I was so used to getting a slight tennis elbow in high school when I would hit hard serves; with the Boom Pro, it was almost effortless. Again, coming from a dinosaur racquet like my Dunlop this new Boom Pro would feel like prime Larry Bird hooping in pair of LeBron's space jams Nikes. I didn't need every shot to be precise, or constantly think about my racquet placement for slicing, overheads, or volleys. I truly believe anyone new to tennis could pick this racquet up and enjoy learning the game. It's not the best in terms of control, but it's effortless and has the potential for so much power in your shots. I feel like it best supports players who like to hit flat, which I will do occasionally when I get lazy or worn down after a couple of hours of play. I recently put Solinco Confidential in the racquet after I got tired of seeing the busted Lynx Touch strings. Now the racquet plays as if it were taken out of my dreams, I'm able to get great spin and better control, with the power and ease of use it has on the arm. It's a match made in heaven for me, it made this 26-year-old feel like I was in high school all over again.

Comments: I was demoing racquets this spring, and thought I'd try this racquet just for fun, thinking it was going to be a stiff power racquet based on the name. It is definitely not. It has a plush feel and offers great control, with decent pop and easy spin. It is really good at just about everything, but not truly great in any category, so it may not appeal to specialists. The Boom Pro is amazingly forgiving, and not nearly as demanding as the racquets I normally play with, which should appeal to a broad group of players. Head should rename this racket the Easy Button.

Comments: The Best Racquet from HEAD! I compare this Head Boom Pro to my old Yonex EZONE DR 98 because it has great feel and power as well! I would recommend any NTRP 5.0 player out there to give this one a shot

Comments: The best racquet from Head! I compare the Head Boom Pro to the EZONE DR 98 because of the amazing feel and also the power that it has. I could get excellent top spin with the my shots, and it was awesome on serves. I felt like I could get enough pace and speed. Overall an awesome frame from Head- Boom Boom!

Comments: Great racquet. Fits between the softness of Galaxy and crispness of Speed. Good power with control enables you to swing out without holding back. Actually you have to swing out, the racquet is very muted and neutral to the point of not knowing whats happening on lesser swings. A great stick, not enough to get me off my Prince Tours, but definitely worth looking into for an all court player.

Comments: Epic power for the racquet specifications.
