The adidas Barricade is back! Coming from a long history of the being the most stable, and durable shoe on the market, this twelfth version (or 2021 edition) is designed to carry on the legacy of the most successful adidas tennis franchise. A key feature carried on from previous Barricades is the Torsion System, which creates a very stable ride, and will hold up to the most aggressive changes of direction. This update features an asymmetric hidden lacing system, which provides secure lockdown, and keeps the laces protected on the medial side for hard court sliders. The comfort has been enhanced with foam pods in the heel region, for step-in comfort, as well as the BOUNCE 2.0 full midsole, for those players putting in the long hours on court. This shoe features Primegreen, a series of high-performance recycled materials, where 50% of the upper material is recycled content.

- Upper: One-piece textile upper material, with an asymmetric lacing system, neoprene tongue, and hidden laces on the medial side. Medial side features tough RPU to protect from foot drag, and toe-cap equipped with Adituff for added durability. Primegreen - 50% of the upper is recycled content.
- Midsole: Full length BOUNCE 2.0 midsole, with Torsion System TPU midfoot shank to maximize lateral stability.
- Outsole: New ADIWEAR rubber compound for high wear durability. Herringbone Reload tread design for enhanced abrasion resistance in high wear areas, and lateral edge caters to hard court sliding.

Comments: These Barricades are a good looking shoe and feel good on the court after several times of wear to break them in. I got small blisters on the inside of ankles where it rubbed. I've worked on loosening that area and wear bandaids for now. They are feeling fine after a week.

Comments: Used these shoes in rotation with my Asics I really like and 2 months in, these Barricades are falling apart. I play 2 maybe 3 times a week on hardcourts. Overall very disappointed with the quality of the shoe.

Comments: Comfort is definitely there except for the toe box area. If you make the mistake and stop suddenly your toes/toenails may pay the price. Hard outer rubber coating seems to be underneath- not giving much room for forgiveness.

Comments: My wife loves these. We both have always worn Barricades because they are wider and offer great stability. There was a weird 3 year period when adidas stopped making them for some unknown reason and we tried many other shoes including Asics, New Balance and Nike. The most expensive of the Asics shoes were the only ones to sort of compare. I ordered these for my wife and she loved them straight from the box. She said she would save them for tournaments to keep them looking fresh and new but she wears them all the time now.

Comments: I saw Maria Sakkari in these at Indian Wells and ordered two sizes! Loved the look. I waited three months to get them, but they're very uncomfortable all around the heel. (I'm unwilling to break them in.) Also, the tongue is some sort of plastic and comes up too high. Overall, disappointing.

Comments: The Barricade was not comfortable. For me the tongue is too high above my foot and rubs the skin, also lacing the shoe on the side is awkward I would prefer the shoe lace up the middle for more stability.

Comments: Love my new adidas Barricades except one thing, I have to tie the laces super tight to prevent my foot from jamming forward. After 3 bruised toe nails, I learned to tie the laces as tight as I can while wearing my thickest socks. Didn't have any issues breaking in the shoe like some of the other reviews.
